Corporate income tax

Corporate income tax and net worth tax are reported together on Form 600, due on or before the 15th day of the 4th month following the close of the taxable year. Rate 5.79% of Georgia taxable net income (per DOR page; rate has been stepping down under 2024 legislation).

Extension. Filing a federal extension (Form 7004) or Georgia Form IT-303 by the original due date grants an additional 7 months to file...

Partnerships and S corporations

HB 149 pass-through entity tax: for taxable years beginning on or after January 1, 2022, S corporations and partnerships may make an annual irrevocable election (checkbox on Form 600S or Form 700) to pay Georgia income tax at the entity level; effective January 1, 2023 all partnerships qualify regardless of ownership. Electing entities pay estimated tax like a C corporation (Form 602-ES). Election must be made by the due date or extended due date of the return.

Sales and use tax

Due date. Sales tax returns are due and payable no later than the 20th day of the month following the period being reported.

Filing frequency. Monthly for most taxpayers; taxpayers may submit a written request to DOR to change filing frequency (monthly, quarterly, or annual periods appear on the DOR due-date tables).

Prepayments. Dealers whose prior-year state sales and use tax liability exceeded $60,000 (excluding local taxes) must remit prepaid estimated tax equal to 50% of the estimated tax liability, computed from the dealer's average monthly state tax payments for the last calendar year.

Notes

Net worth tax is paid prospectively for the coming year on the same 600/600S return as income tax. Corporate rate is stepping down annually under 2024 law (DOR page currently shows 5.79%; partnership page shows 5.19% for electing entities), so quote the rate with a year.

What we could not confirm. Sales tax filing-frequency dollar thresholds live in Rule 560-12-1-.22, which could not be fetched (SOS rules site returned only a shell page); left null. Corporate rate figures on DOR pages differ (5.79% vs 5.19%) because of the phase-down schedule; the exact current-year rate was not pinned to a tax year.
